Common questions
How do I invite my family or housemates?
- Open the Household tab.
- Under Invite someone, tap Invite someone, then Share invite to send a link or the 6-character code by text, email, or any messaging app.
- They install LemonList, sign in, choose Join with a code, and enter the code. If they tap the link with LemonList installed, the code is filled in for them.
Each code works once and expires after 7 days, so make a new one for each person. A household can have up to 6 people, and everyone sees and edits the same lists.
How do I leave a household or remove someone?
Anyone can leave from the Household tab with Leave household. If the owner leaves, the person who has been in the household longest becomes the owner. If you’re the last person to leave, the household and its lists are deleted.
The owner (the person who created the household) can remove someone with Remove next to their name. They’ll need a new invite to come back.
How do I delete my account?
Open the Household tab, scroll to the You section, and tap Delete account. Here’s what happens:
- You leave your household. If you were the owner, ownership passes to the person who joined earliest. If you were the only member, the household and everything in it are deleted.
- Your login, email address, profile (name and color), and notification settings are deleted.
- Items you added stay on the shared list for everyone else, shown as added by a former member.
This can’t be undone. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a Premium subscription, because Apple or Google bills it. Cancel it first (see below).
Can’t get into the app? Email support@lemonlist.io from the address you sign in with, with the subject “Delete my account”, and we’ll delete your account for you within 30 days. Delete your account has the steps and exactly what’s deleted and what stays; our privacy policy has the full details.
What is the 60-day starter period?
Every new household gets Premium free for 60 days from the day it’s created. There’s no card to enter and nothing to cancel. Everyone who joins the household shares it.
When it ends, your household moves to the free plan unless someone subscribes. Nothing is deleted: your main grocery list keeps working, and any extra lists stay visible but locked until the household has Premium again. Each person gets one starter period.
You can see how many days are left on the Household tab under Plan.
How do subscriptions work?
Premium is $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year in the US, and one subscription covers everyone in your household. Prices in other countries are shown in the app before you buy.
You subscribe in the app, and Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) handles the payment with the account on your phone. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
If the person paying leaves the household or deletes their account, Premium ends for the household. Anyone else can then subscribe.
How do I cancel my subscription or get a refund?
Apple and Google manage subscriptions, so cancel where you subscribed:
- iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose LemonList, and tap Cancel Subscription.
- Android: open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, choose LemonList, and tap Cancel subscription.
Premium stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple (at reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play under their policies; we can’t issue them ourselves.
Got a new phone? Use Restore purchases on the Household tab.
How do I turn off notifications?
On the Household tab, turn off When others add items. You can also turn off notifications for LemonList in your phone’s settings.
An item landed in the wrong aisle. How do I fix it?
Tap the item and choose the right aisle. LemonList remembers it for your household, so it goes in the right place next time.
