Delete your LemonList account

LemonList is made by Pacific Web Design LLC. You can delete your account and its data in the app, or by email without the app.

Fastest: in the app

Your account is deleted right away.

  1. Open LemonList and go to the Household tab.
  2. Scroll to the You card and tap Delete account.
  3. Tap Delete account again to confirm.

Without the app: email us

Email, with the subject “Delete my account”

Send it from the email address you sign in to LemonList with. You don’t need to write anything else.

Email a deletion request

  • How we confirm it’s you: we check that the request came from the address on the account, and reply to that same address. If you wrote from a different address, we’ll ask you to confirm from the one on the account.
  • Signed in with Apple using “Hide My Email”? Write from that relay address, or tell us your household’s name so we can find the account.
  • Timeline: we delete the account within 30 days of confirming it’s you, usually within a few days, and email you when it’s done. This is well inside the 45 days our privacy policy allows for any privacy request.

Cancel any subscription first

Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a Premium subscription. Apple and Google bill you, not us, so cancel where you subscribed:

  • iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose LemonList, and tap Cancel Subscription.
  • Android: open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, choose LemonList, and tap Cancel subscription.

What gets deleted

  • Your account: your login, your email address, your profile (name, color, and settings), your household membership, and your devices’ push tokens.
  • You leave your household. If you were its owner, ownership passes to the member who has been in the household longest.
  • If you were the only member, the household is deleted, along with all of its lists, items, history, favorites, invites, and settings.

What stays

  • Shared household data stays with the household. Items you added, items you checked off, trips you started, and the household’s purchase history remain for the other members, because they’re part of their shared lists. They are no longer linked to you; the app shows them as added by a former member. Invite codes you created or used also stay in the household’s records, unlinked from you.
  • The starter period fingerprint. If you had a free starter period, we keep a one-way fingerprint of your email address (a SHA-256 hash, which can’t be turned back into the address) so a new account with the same email doesn’t get a second one. It isn’t linked to any other information about you.
  • Information held by service providers is deleted or expires on its own schedule: crash reports within 90 days, analytics events within 2 years (deleted or fully de-identified), server logs within 90 days, and database backups within 30 days. Crash reports and analytics are linked only to a random user ID, which no longer connects to any account once yours is deleted. Ask in your email if you’d like them deleted sooner.
  • Purchase records are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax, and legal obligations (generally up to 7 years). Apple and Google keep their own records of any purchase.

Deleting your account can’t be undone. If you only want to stop sharing with your household, use Leave household on the Household tab instead and keep your account. The full details are in our privacy policy.
